Manjari Charitable Trust was established in December, 2011, with an aim to provide a wholesome education to children of displaced villagers, migrant labourers and daily wage earners.
To provide equal opportunities to all children in a conducive environment, allowing them to explore suitable opportunities so as to enable them to reach their full potential and to grow to become confident, responsible and sensitive individuals.
I have been working with Manjari Charitable trust since 2014.The teachers and children have given meaning and purpose to my life. The enthusiasm of the children, despite many shortcomings, their smiles, acceptance, and achievements has changed my personality too. I have learnt to be passionate, to give more without expectations, laugh more, and ignore the negatives and so on.
Each day I look forward to interact with the children, teach as well as learn from them. I am blessed to have a job that is so satisfying and rewarding. I hope to be associated with the trust for many more years to come and grow along with the children.
I’ve been working as science teacher with manjari charitable trust since three years. Ever since then, I have learned a lot which has helped me become a better person. Not many people have the privilege to work under such a caring & understanding environment. I feel empowered to be part of such great team!
I am working in Manjari for last 6 years. Working with children has been a wonderful experience so far and I continue to cherish this wonderful experience. I am teaching Maths and English to children from first to tenth standard.
Our aim is to make children understand the concept clearly. I have been given the freedom to teach children in the best way I feel possible. By teaching the children, I am getting rejuvenated. Whenever we need suggestions, the Trustees are present to help us. I am enjoying the freedom in teaching. Students are also showing interest in learning everything that we teach. As they are with me for last 6 years, they show affection to me. I am happy to get an opportunity to work for the children.
Our main objective is to provide quality education to those children who can not afford private school. We also guide parents so that they give importance to the education of their children.

To work with Manjari Trust has been a golden opportunity for me since I felt working for children's future to support and empower people within society is a perfect career path for me. Children coming to our Centre have a good understanding of Marathi as a language. Some children do find difficulties while learning (especially writing), due to variations in their native spoken Marathi dialect, & the fact that many children are from outside Maharashtra. As teachers we need to put in extra effort in such instances. Learning definitely happens with persistence & practice.

I got to know about Manjari through Sumukhi, who, very kindly had agreed to mentor me, as I sought to venture into my PhD field work. Freshly out of a utopian sociological classroom, I entered Manjari with my own set of very theoretical assumptions about the hows and whys of education, classrooms, teachers and students.
It was during my time at Manjari that I got a solid grounding of educational landscape of urban India. But it wasn’t just that! At Manjari I saw a classroom come to life and how! It was nothing of what I expected and yet was so much more! What I came face to face with was a handful of highly dedicated and honest teachers (more of friends than teachers to their students) striving to provide to students (from marginalised homes) an education, that every child deserves, but doesn’t get access to. It was enthralling to witness lives, stories and memories in the making; something that’ll be part of my field research baptism for years to come.

I had a wonderful time teaching students at Manjari Charitable trust. Students at the trust are very creative and keen to learn about new things; everything a teacher wishes for. Understanding their life experiences and seeing their satisfied faces when you draw from their familiarities to help them learn is ever inspiring. The trustees reach above and beyond to encourage students to engage with learning and ensure teaching is intellectually stimulating. I learnt that it is no easy task working with orthodox families to persuade their kids to study and the trustee have helped overcome this important barrier to make education accessible.....

I am associated with Manjari Learning Centre, Khargar, Navi-Mumbai since April 2019, as a teacher and mentor to the students. Being an academician and researcher myself, I work towards inculcating a scientific temperament in the students by fun-filled hands-on science activities. Besides, I also am involved in improving their conversational and spoken skills in English.
What struck me most about the children is their willingness to learn. I was pleasantly surprised and quite impressed with their enthusiasm every time I come to class and their wholehearted participation in the activities. I am enjoying my interactions with the students immensely and am happy to contribute in any little way to motivate the students to pursue a better future for themselves. Moreover, the trustees Dr Sumukhi and Mrs Sumita have been instrumental in making the atmosphere and environment at the Centre very friendly and congenial. Overall, the experience has been entirely satisfying and rewarding for me and I look forward to continuing my interactions with the Centre.
I had the honour of working with Manjari Trust as a volunteer. This was a unique experience for me to see the dedication and the length to which the teachers go to help children in the Trust get the education they deserve. It is a lot more than just a job for them.
Since 5th standard I'm part of the manjari trust... It is not only ordinary trust but it us a place where children learn, play and grow; not only physically but also mentally. Our teachers always helped us in our studies. They have not taught only the textbook but also they have taught us how to be a good human being among other things. They always cheer me on to help me reach my goal. I am very blessed to part of this trust.

मी पाचवी ते दहावी पर्यंत मंजारी ट्रस्ट मधे शिकलो.तेथील शिक्षकांनी मला ऊत्तम शिक्षण दिले. सुमूखी मॅडम विज्ञान आणि इंग्लिश खूप चांगल शिकवायच्या. सुमीता मॅडम गणित हा विषय उत्तमरीत्या शिकवायच्या. माझ इंग्लिश व्याकरण खूपच खराब होत तेव्हा कविता मॅडम नी खूप मदत केली आणि उत्तमरीत्या शिकवलं. मंजारी ट्रस्ट मध्ये मी जायला लागलो तेव्हा मी खुप शिस्तबद्ध झालो आणि मला वेळेचे महत्व समजले. मंजारी ट्रस्ट मधील सर्व शिक्षकांनी मला खूप मदत केली चांगले शिक्षण दिले मार्गदर्शन केलं अजूनही करतात. माझ्या भविष्याच्या पुढील वाटचालीसाठी मॅडम मला ऊत्तम मार्गदर्शन करतात. आतापर्यंतचा मंजारी ट्रस्ट सोबतचा माझा अनुभव खूपच अविस्मरणीय आहे. धन्यवाद.
I have been with the trust since I was in 9th. I have learnt a lot from my teachers. Their teaching style was very good; and made us interested in studies. They were worried about our future. If any difficult situation came up, they made it easy and they were always there to help us. They encouraged us and are still encouraging us. We always had so many activities and also many new teachers to help us in our studies. This journey, we will never forget. Lots of thanks for making me a successful student.
I have been with manjari trust since 7 years of age. Our Teachers would spend a lot of time explaining things to us; so that we could gain confidence in English and Maths. Maths would be taught using examples from ‘day-to-day’ life, so that our learning became relevant. To improve our English, our teachers would ask us to read books and focus on our grammar too.
Punctuality was very important also. I realise the importance of that now. We were all (girls and boys) equal for our teachers, and that made a lot of difference.

I have been with Manjari trust since I was just 11 years old. It was not just a NGO for me and others who were part of it, even though I was the student of the trust I am still considered as a member of it.
They helped us providing us the important thing 'education'. For teaching us they used to translate the lesson and then learn by themselves and then only they started teaching. Teachers were strict when it came to completion of work and punctuality. There was a lot of focus on using English, especially while doing Maths and Science. We were always encouraged to read books and comprehend what we were reading. This gave us so much of confidence, that college hasn’t been too difficult at all. There as so many things that I enjoyed and learnt at the centre.
We have been (and still continue to be) a part of the Trust. From childhood to 10th you taught us and your teaching method was very nice. The trust and teachers always taught us well and with so much of respect. . The trust only looked at giving us a wholesome education; never bothered whether we were poor or rich. All the teachers have more than helped us. Thanks to all my teachers.
